Backing Bromley Launches Hotline
The launch of our new community group Backing Bromley has got off to a flying start. We have had loads of support already. In the last two weeks over a thousand residents welcomed Backing Bromley by raising signs outside their homes. The signs have put the council on notice that there is a new campaign group in town and we are going to hold Bromley council to account.
Residents from 11 wards took part in the recent activites. The signs went up in Bromley Common and Keston, Bickley, Chelsfield and Pratts Bottom, Chislehurst, Copers Cope, Cray Valley West, Farnborough and Crofton, Hayes and Coney Hall, Plaistow and Sundridge.
Councillors Stephen Carr (leader), Colin Smith (deputy leader), Kate Lymer, Lydia Buttinger, Stephen Wells, Ian Payne, Robert Evans, Graham Arthur, Peter Fortune, Peter Morgan, David Livett are now under pressure to act on their constituent’s concerns.
But that isn’t all we’ve been doing, Backing Bromley has also set up a confidential hotline for residents to report council failings..
Bromley council is mistreating whistle-blowers who are trying to raise legitimate concerns about the impact of cuts on local services. So we have launched this hotline and we will expose the problems facing Bromley that our councillors won’t face up to.
You can call this free phone number 0800 852 7479 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org . The hotline is now live and Backing Bromley has already been receiving serious reports of failures by the council and will be collating a dossier of information for residents..
